beauty will rise

the new title of the blog comes from a steven curtis chapman (SCC) cd. it's his newest cd actually. if you don't know him - he's a famous christian artist who has 6 kids (i think) one of which died may 2009 after she was hit by the family car. it was a truly devastating event. their oldest son had just graduated from high school and they were leaving the house when one of the sons backed out of the driveway and didn't see the young girl. the 3 oldest chapman kids are biologically theirs and the 3 younger children were all adopted from china. so after maria, the youngest daughter, died SCC wrote many new songs to describe how he felt and how God had worked through the tragedy.

for someone who hasn't experienced the loss of a child or gone through a tragedy, this cd may not seem as good to you, but to me it brings hope. one of the songs is called 'beauty will rise'. the song starts out with SCC remembering the day that maria was killed and the pain and hurt that he went through in the weeks after.

here's the chorus

"out of these ashes beauty will rise and we will dance among the ruins
we will see it with our own eyes
out of these ashes beauty will rise
for we know that joy is coming in the morning, in the morning,
beauty will rise"
here's verse 2
"so take another breath for now and
let the tears come washing down
if you can't believe i will believe for you
cause i have seen the signs of spring"
just watch and see"
this song affirms everything i've prayed for since maddie's death. God has great plans for us and promises us that "spring is coming". if you are a believer then you have to have hope that no matter how bad things get that God has a plan and HE PROMISES that SPRING is COMING...
i love that and this year SPRING means so much more to me than warm weather, sunny days, and pretty flowers. this year is symbolizes the new life that is ALL AROUND and i love sitting back and looking at the new things God is creating... breathtaking!

Loni,
You are such a strong woman. My heart skipped a beat reading your new post. May your spring be more colorful, more fragrant, warmer, and happier because of the depth of your understanding out of your tragedy. What a beautiful witness you are!

God's promises are true.....He also lost a child and gave Him for us...so He more than anyone knows how you and others feel.....but He promised He would be there and "beauty would rise" from the ashes....
I am so glad of what He has taught you.....and you have so much JOY coming.....
